CSOC UT Austin Home Meetings

Experience Community Beyond Campus

At Christian Students on Campus (CSOC UT Austin), we believe that some of the most meaningful moments in college happen when we gather in homes. For over 50 years, CSOC has connected UT students with welcoming home environments where faith, friendship, and genuine community flourish.

What Are Home Meetings?

Home meetings are gatherings hosted by CSOC alumni who open their homes to current UT students. These alumni once walked the same campus paths you do now. Having benefited from similar gatherings during their college years, they’re eager to extend that same care to you.

Each week, dozens of homes across Austin welcome CSOC members for:

  • Home-cooked meals shared together
  • Reading and discussing the Bible in a relaxed setting
  • Building lasting friendships with fellow students
  • Connecting with mentors who’ve navigated life beyond UT

What to Expect

When you join a CSOC home meeting, you can typically expect:

  • A warm, welcoming environmentDinner around 6-7 p.m.Bible reading, prayer, and discussion
  • Flexible format based on the needs of studentsGroups of about 15-25 (sizes vary)
  • A mix of both new and returning students

Most home meetings are co-ed, though some guy-only and girl-only options are available. The format remains flexible to best serve everyone attending.

Where and When

CSOC has nearly 40 home meetings throughout Austin, some even within walking distance of campus. While groups meet throughout the week, Friday evenings are especially popular.

How to Join

Getting connected to a CSOC home meeting is simple:

  1. Meet and connect with CSOC members on campus.
  2. Receive an invitation to join them at a home meeting.

You can also reach out directly through our

Why Homes Matter

The practice of gathering in homes follows a pattern we see throughout the Bible and Christian history. These intimate settings create space for authentic relationships that often last well beyond your time at UT.

When we say “find friends in CSOC for life,” we truly mean it. Many of our alumni who now host students were once themselves welcomed into homes as UT students.
